Ingredients
- 🌽 500 g fresh corn kernels (3 cups / 1.1 lb)
- 🧈 75 g unsalted butter, softened (⅓ cup / 2.6 oz)
- 🍬 60 g sugar (¼ cup / 2.1 oz)
- 🥛 60 ml milk (¼ cup / 2 fl oz)
- 🌾 100 g corn flour (masa harina) (¾ cup / 3.5 oz)
- 🧂 Pinch of salt
- 🍂 8 corn husks (soaked in warm water)
Preparation
- 1️⃣ In a blender, blend corn kernels with milk until smooth.
- 2️⃣ In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add corn mixture and mix well.
- 3️⃣ Stir in masa harina and a pinch of salt. Batter should be soft but hold shape.
- 4️⃣ Fill each corn husk with 2 tablespoons of mixture and fold closed.
- 5️⃣ Steam tamales for 45–50 minutes until set.
- 6️⃣ Let cool slightly before serving — enjoy warm!
