Description
π² Comforting, nourishing, and full of umami β Miso Soup is the heart of traditional Japanese cuisine. With its savory miso base, tender tofu cubes, and delicate wakame seaweed, itβs the perfect way to start a meal or warm up on a cool day.
Ingredients
- π§ 750 ml (3 cups) dashi stock (vegetable or bonito-based)
- πΆ 3 tbsp miso paste (white or red)
- π₯’ 100 g (3.5 oz) firm tofu, cut into small cubes
- π± 2 tbsp dried wakame seaweed
- πΏ 2 stalks green onion, finely sliced
Preparation
- 1οΈβ£ Heat the dashi stock in a medium pot over medium heat.
- 2οΈβ£ Add wakame and simmer for 2β3 minutes until softened.
- 3οΈβ£ Place miso paste in a small bowl, add a ladle of hot dashi, and whisk until smooth.
- 4οΈβ£ Return the miso mixture to the pot, stirring gently β do not boil after adding miso.
- 5οΈβ£ Add tofu cubes and warm through for 1β2 minutes.
- 6οΈβ£ Garnish with green onion before serving.
