Ingredients
- 🥃 Bourbon or Indian whisky: 60 ml (2 fl oz)
- 🍋 Fresh lemon juice: 25 ml (0.85 fl oz)
- 🍯 Tamarind syrup* : 20 ml (0.67 fl oz)
- 🥚 Egg white or aquafaba (foam, optional): 15 ml (1 tbsp / 0.5 fl oz)
- 🧊 Ice cubes
- 🍊 Orange peel, to garnish
- **Tamarind Syrup (makes ~200 ml):
- 💧 Water: 200 ml (¾ cup / 6.8 fl oz)
- 🟤 Seedless tamarind pulp: 60 g (¼ cup packed / 2.1 oz)
- 🍬 Sugar (or jaggery): 120 g (½ cup / 4.2 oz)
- 🌿 Green cardamom, lightly crushed: 2 pods
- Method (syrup): Simmer water + tamarind + cardamom 5 min. Rest 5 min, strain, stir in sugar to dissolve, cool. Refrigerate 2 weeks.
Preparation
- 1️⃣ Dry shake (no ice): Add 🥃 whisky, 🍋 lemon, 🍯 tamarind syrup, and 🥚 egg white/aquafaba; shake 10–12 s to foam.
- 2️⃣ Wet shake: Add 🧊 ice; shake 12–15 s hard.
- 3️⃣ Strain into a chilled coupe or rocks glass over fresh ice.
- 4️⃣ Garnish: Express 🍊 orange peel over the top, rub the rim, and drop in.
