Ingredients

• 🥃 Plum rakija (slivovitz), quality bottling: 60 ml (2 fl oz)
• 🍯 Demerara syrup (1:1 sugar:water): 7–10 ml (1½–2 tsp / 0.24–0.34 fl oz)
• 🟤 Angostura bitters: 2 dashes (≈1 ml / ¼ tsp)
• 🟠 Orange peel, wide strip (garnish): 1 piece
• 🧊 Large clear ice cube: 1

Preparation

1. 1️⃣ Chill an old-fashioned glass. Express 🟠 orange peel over the glass rim; reserve peel.
2. 2️⃣ In a mixing glass add 🥃 rakija, 🍯 demerara syrup, and 🟤 bitters. Add 🧊 ice and stir 15–20 sec until chilled and silky.
3. 3️⃣ Strain over one large 🧊 cube. Express the 🟠 peel again and drop it in or clip on the rim. Taste; add a drop more syrup if you want rounder edges.
