Description

🧀 Traditional Balkan cornbread made with cornmeal, yogurt, and cheese — soft inside, golden outside. Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or as a side dish to stews and soups.

Ingredients

🌽 250g cornmeal

🌾 100g all-purpose flour

🥚 2 eggs

🥛 200ml yogurt or kefir

🧀 150g white cheese (feta or sirene), crumbled

🛢️ 100ml sunflower or olive oil

🧂 1 tsp baking powder

🧂 Salt, to taste

Preparation

1. 🥣 Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).

2. In a bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.

3. 🥄 In another bowl, whisk eggs, then add yogurt and oil.

4. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Add crumbled cheese and mix gently.

5. 🧈 Pour into a greased baking dish (or muffin tin for mini proje).

6. 🔥 Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden on top and set inside.

7. ❄️ Let cool slightly before slicing.
