A classic Bosnian soup full of deep, comforting flavors. Made with chicken, vegetables, and okra β thick, warm and perfect for a hearty meal.
π 300 g chicken meat (breast or thigh, skinless)
π₯ 2 carrots
π§ 1 onion
π 2 tbsp rice
πΏ 50 g dried okra (or fresh if available)
π§ Salt, pepper to taste
πΏ Fresh parsley for garnish
For the thickener:
π§ 1 tbsp butter
π₯£ 1 flat tbsp flour
π₯ 100 ml sour cream
π₯ 1 egg yolk
1οΈβ£ Cook the π chicken in 1 liter of water with π§ chopped onion and π₯ carrots. Add salt.
2οΈβ£ Once tender, remove the chicken, shred it, and return it to the soup.
3οΈβ£ Add rinsed π rice and πΏ okra. Cook for another 15 minutes until everything softens.
4οΈβ£ In a small pan, melt π§ butter and add flour to make a roux. Add one ladle of the soup to blend.
5οΈβ£ In a bowl, whisk π₯ sour cream and π₯ egg yolk, then slowly combine with the roux.
6οΈβ£ Pour the mixture into the soup, stir well and let it simmer for 2β3 more minutes.
7οΈβ£ Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving.
