Warm, comforting, and easy to make β this homemade tomato soup is a simple classic thatβs perfect for any day. Smooth, rich, and packed with real tomato flavor.
π 800g ripe tomatoes (or canned whole tomatoes)
π§ 1 medium onion, chopped
π§ 2 cloves garlic, minced
π’οΈ 2 tablespoons olive oil
π₯£ 500ml vegetable broth
π§ Salt and pepper, to taste
πΏ Fresh basil leaves (optional)
π₯ 100ml heavy cream (optional, for a creamier soup)
1. π₯ Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. π§ Add the chopped onion and sautΓ© until soft and translucent (about 5 minutes).
3. π§ Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute, stirring constantly.
4. π Add the tomatoes (chopped if using fresh) along with their juices. Stir well.
5. π₯£ Pour in the vegetable broth. Bring everything to a simmer.
6. β³ Simmer uncovered for about 20β25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. π Blend the soup using an immersion blender until smooth (or carefully transfer to a blender in batches).
