This stew simmered all day on grandma’s stove, bubbling slowly while the windows fogged up and the whole house smelled like something sacred was happening. White beans, vegetables, and that little hint of paprika and garlic that said: “you’re home now.” It’s not just a meal – it’s a blanket in a bowl.
1️⃣ If using dried beans, soak overnight, drain, and cook until tender (about 45–60 min).
2️⃣ In a pot, heat 🫒 oil and sauté 🧅 onion and 🥕 carrot until soft.
3️⃣ Add 🧄 garlic, 🌶️ paprika, and 🍅 tomato paste – stir for 1 minute.
4️⃣ Add beans, 🌿 bay leaf, and 💧 water or broth.
5️⃣ Simmer for 30 minutes on low, stirring occasionally.
6️⃣ Remove bay leaf, mash a few beans for thickness, and season to taste.
