These truffles were grandma’s sneaky way of using leftover amaretti cookies. A little cocoa, a splash of coffee or liqueur, and boom – magic. No baking, no rolling pins, just sticky hands and happy faces. Bittersweet, a little nutty, and totally unforgettable.
Ingredients
- 🍪 100 g (3.5 oz) amaretti cookies, crushed
- 🍫 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 🍯 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey
- ☕ 2 tbsp espresso or strong coffee
- 🍷 Optional: 1 tbsp amaretto liqueur
- 🌰 Optional: crushed almonds or hazelnuts for coating
Preparation
- 1️⃣ Crush 🍪 amaretti cookies into fine crumbs.
- 2️⃣ In a bowl, mix crumbs with 🍫 cocoa, 🍯 sweetener, ☕ coffee, and 🍷 liqueur if using.
- 3️⃣ Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- 4️⃣ Roll into small balls. Coat in 🌰 crushed nuts or more cocoa.
- 5️⃣ Chill for 30 min before serving.
