Description
These soft, homemade garlic rolls were a Sunday classic on Balkan tables. Fluffy inside, golden outside, and brushed with real garlic butter β perfect for sharing or soaking up soup.
Ingredients
π₯ 200 ml warm milk (ΒΎ cup)
π§ 50 g unsalted butter, melted (3 Β½ tbsp)
π₯ 1 large egg
π§ 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
πΎ 400 g all-purpose flour (3 β cups)
π§ 1 tsp salt
π― 1 tsp sugar
π 7 g active dry yeast (1 packet)
Preparation
1οΈβ£ Activate yeast: Stir sugar and yeast into the warm milk. Let sit for 10 minutes until bubbly.
2οΈβ£ Make the dough: Add the egg, melted butter, salt, and flour. Mix until smooth.
3οΈβ£ Knead & rise: Knead for 5β6 minutes, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
4οΈβ£ Shape rolls: Divide into 12 pieces and form into soft rolls.
5οΈβ£ Add garlic: Mix chopped garlic with a spoon of butter and brush over each roll.
6οΈβ£ Bake: Bake at 190Β°C (375Β°F) for 20β25 minutes until golden.
