For the meatballs:

π 50g breadcrumbs

For the tomato sauce:
π 400ml tomato passata or pureed tomatoes
π§ 1 small onion, finely chopped
π§ 2 cloves garlic, minced
π’οΈ 2 tablespoons olive oil
π§ Salt and pepper, to taste
πΏ 1 teaspoon dried oregano or basil
For the mashed potatoes:
π₯ 600g potatoes, peeled and chopped
π₯ 100ml milk
π§ 50g butter
π§ Salt, to taste
1. π₯£ In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley. Form small meatballs.
2. π₯ Heat olive oil in a pan and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
3. π³ In the same pan, sautΓ© onion and garlic until soft. Add tomato passata, salt, pepper, and oregano. Stir well.
4. π Return the meatballs to the pan, cover, and simmer in the sauce for 20β25 minutes.
5. π₯ Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until soft (about 15β20 minutes).
6. π₯ Drain the potatoes, add butter and warm milk, then mash until smooth and creamy.
7. π½οΈ Serve the meatballs hot over a bed of mashed potatoes with plenty of tomato sauce.
