Description
This simple stir-fry is a Chinese fasting staple β tender tofu tossed with aromatic garlic chives, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Itβs quick, clean, and surprisingly full of flavor.
Ingredients
- π§ 300 g firm tofu, cubed (10.5 oz)
- πΏ 100 g garlic chives, chopped (1 cup)
- π§ 3 garlic cloves, minced
- π« 15 ml sesame oil (1 tbsp)
- π« 30 ml soy sauce (2 tbsp)
- π 10 ml rice vinegar (2 tsp)
- π§ Salt and black pepper to taste
- πΆοΈ Optional: pinch of chili flakes
Preparation
- 1οΈβ£ Heat sesame oil in a wok or large pan over medium heat. Add tofu cubes and pan-fry until golden on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- 2οΈβ£ In the same pan, add garlic and stir until fragrant (30 seconds). Add garlic chives and stir-fry 1β2 minutes.
- 3οΈβ£ Return tofu to the pan. Add soy sauce, vinegar, and chili flakes (if using). Toss to coat evenly.
- 4οΈβ£ Cook 1 more minute. Season to taste. Serve warm with steamed rice.
