Description
Classic Chinese dumplings 🥢 Juicy filling of pork and cabbage, delicately steamed and served with an aromatic soy-ginger dipping sauce. A bite of comfort straight from the streets of Beijing.
Ingredients
- 🐖 200 g ground pork (7 oz)
- 🥬 100 g napa cabbage, finely shredded (3.5 oz)
- 🧄 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 🧅 30 g scallions (1 oz), finely chopped
- 🫚 6 g fresh ginger, grated (1 tbsp)
- 🧂 5 g salt (1 tsp)
- 🥣 15 ml light soy sauce (1 tbsp)
- 🌾 5 ml sesame oil (1 tsp)
- 🥟 20 dumpling wrappers
- For the dip:
- 🥣 30 ml light soy sauce (2 tbsp)
- 🫚 5 g grated ginger (1 tsp)
- 🍋 5 ml rice vinegar (1 tsp)
- 🌶 Optional: chili oil to taste
Preparation
- 1️⃣ In a bowl, mix pork, cabbage, garlic, scallions, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, and salt until combined.
- 2️⃣ Place 1 tsp filling into each wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold, and seal.
- 3️⃣ Steam in a bamboo or metal steamer for 10 minutes.
- 4️⃣ Combine dipping sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
- 5️⃣ Serve dumplings warm with sauce 🥢
