Ingredients
- 🐟 300 g white fish fillet (cod or tilapia), skinless (10.5 oz)
- 🫚 10 g fresh ginger, julienned (2 tsp)
- 🧅 2 scallions, sliced lengthwise
- 🧄 1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
- 🧂 Salt to taste
- 🌾 15 ml light soy sauce (1 tbsp)
- 🌻 15 ml neutral oil (1 tbsp), for flash-heating
- 🌶 Optional: 1 small red chili, thinly sliced
Preparation
- 1️⃣ Place fish on a heatproof plate and lightly season with salt.
- 2️⃣ Scatter ginger, garlic, and half the scallions on top.
- 3️⃣ Steam over high heat for 8–10 minutes, until fish flakes easily.
- 4️⃣ Meanwhile, heat oil in a small pan until shimmering.
- 5️⃣ Pour hot oil over steamed fish to release aromas.
- 6️⃣ Drizzle soy sauce on top and garnish with remaining scallions and chili.
