Ingredients

  • 🐟 300 g white fish fillet (cod or tilapia), skinless (10.5 oz)
  • 🫚 10 g fresh ginger, julienned (2 tsp)
  • 🧅 2 scallions, sliced lengthwise
  • 🧄 1 garlic clove, thinly sliced
  • 🧂 Salt to taste
  • 🌾 15 ml light soy sauce (1 tbsp)
  • 🌻 15 ml neutral oil (1 tbsp), for flash-heating
  • 🌶 Optional: 1 small red chili, thinly sliced

Preparation

  • 1️⃣ Place fish on a heatproof plate and lightly season with salt.
  • 2️⃣ Scatter ginger, garlic, and half the scallions on top.
  • 3️⃣ Steam over high heat for 8–10 minutes, until fish flakes easily.
  • 4️⃣ Meanwhile, heat oil in a small pan until shimmering.
