Ingredients
- 🍗 2 chicken breasts (500 g / 1.1 lb), butterflied and flattened
- 🧂 Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 🌾 50 g all-purpose flour (1/3 cup / 1.8 oz)
- 🥚 2 eggs, beaten
- 🍞 100 g panko breadcrumbs (1 1/2 cups / 3.5 oz)
- 🛢️ Vegetable oil, for deep frying
- 🍱 Cooked white rice, for serving
- 🍶 Tonkatsu sauce, for dipping
Preparation
- 1️⃣ Season chicken with salt and pepper.
- 2️⃣ Dredge each piece in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat in panko.
- 3️⃣ Heat oil in a deep skillet to 175°C (350°F).
- 4️⃣ Fry chicken 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- 5️⃣ Drain on paper towels. Slice and serve over rice with tonkatsu sauce.
