Ingredients
- 🧊 Pitted soft dates (Medjool if possible): 140 g (1 cup packed / 5 oz)
- 🥜 Almonds, lightly toasted: 60 g (½ cup / 2.1 oz)
- 🥛 Cold milk (dairy or almond milk): 400 ml (1⅔ cups / 13.5 fl oz)
- 🍦 Plain yogurt or vanilla ice cream (optional, richer): 60 g (¼ cup / 2.1 oz)
- 🍯 Honey or jaggery (optional, only if needed): 1–2 tsp (5–10 ml)
- 🌿 Ground cardamom or cinnamon: ¼ tsp (0.8 g)
- ❄️ Ice cubes: 4–6
- ✨ Pinch of salt
Preparation
- 1️⃣ Soak 🥜 almonds in hot water 10 min (or use blanched). Drain; optionally peel for extra-smooth texture.
- 2️⃣ Add dates + milk to a blender; whir 20 s to loosen.
- 3️⃣ Add almonds, yogurt/ice cream (if using), cardamom, salt, ice and blend until perfectly smooth.
- 4️⃣ Taste; add a touch of 🍯 only if needed. Pour into a chilled glass; dust with a pinch of cardamom.
