A quiet kind of dish—one that doesn’t ask for attention but always gets noticed. Soft peppers, filled with a little cheese, a little ham, and just enough egg to hold it all together. Nothing too much, nothing missing. When it’s warm, it feels like home.
🫑 4 small bell peppers
🧀 200 g (about 7 oz) cottage or soft white cheese
🥩 100 g (about 3.5 oz) ham, diced
🥚 2 eggs
🥄 1 tbsp sour cream (optional, for creamier texture)
🧂 Salt and black pepper to taste
🫒 A little oil for greasing the baking dish
1️⃣ Wash the peppers, slice off the tops and carefully remove the seeds.
2️⃣ In a bowl, mix together the cheese, ham, eggs, sour cream, salt, and pepper.
3️⃣ Fill each pepper gently—leave a little space at the top to let the filling settle as it bakes.
4️⃣ Arrange in a greased baking dish.
5️⃣ Bake at 200°C (390°F) for about 30 minutes, until the peppers are tender and lightly browned.
6️⃣ Let them rest for 10 minutes before serving.
