Description
Sweet–sour tamarind, fresh lime, tequila, and a chili-salt rim — classic Mexican margarita vibes, but with that spicy street twist. 🌶️
Hook
Serve it in a chilled glass with tajín on the rim and a lime wheel — fiesta in 2 minutes. 🎉
Ingredients
- For the drink
- 🥃 Tequila (blanco): 60 ml (¼ cup / 2 fl oz)
- 🍊 Tamarind syrup (or concentrate, diluted): 40 ml (2½ tbsp / 1.35 fl oz)
- 🍋 Fresh lime juice: 30 ml (2 tbsp / 1 fl oz)
- 🍯 Agave syrup or simple syrup (optional): 10–15 ml (2–3 tsp)
- 🧊 Ice cubes: 1 cup
- For the rim
- 🌶️ Tajín or chili powder: 1 tbsp
- 🧂 Fine salt: 1 tsp
- 🍋 Lime wedge: for the rim
- For garnish
- 🍋 Lime wheel
- 🌶️ Dried chili (optional)
Preparation
- 1️⃣ Rim the glass
- Mix tajín and salt on a small plate. Rub the rim of the glass with lime, dip into the chili-salt mix, shake off excess.
- 2️⃣ Shake
- In a shaker add ice, tequila, tamarind syrup, lime juice and (if you like it sweeter) agave. Shake 15–20 seconds until very cold.
- 3️⃣ Serve
- Fill the rimmed glass with fresh ice, strain the cocktail over. Garnish with lime wheel and a pinch of tajín on top.
