These grissini were always in a jar by grandma’s window – slightly bent, golden, and totally addictive. No store-bought version ever came close. Simple dough, a brush of olive oil, and a crack of salt... that's all it takes. Crunchy, rustic, and way too easy to keep eating.
🌾 250 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
🥄 1 tsp sugar
🧂 1 tsp salt
🍞 1 tsp instant yeast
💧 140 ml (1/2 cup + 1 tbsp) warm water
🫒 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for brushing)
🌿 Optional: dried rosemary, sesame seeds, or coarse salt for topping
1️⃣ In a bowl, mix 🌾 flour, 🥄 sugar, 🧂 salt, and 🍞 yeast.
2️⃣ Add 💧 warm water and 🫒 oil. Knead into smooth dough (5–6 min).
3️⃣ Cover and rest 45 min.
4️⃣ Roll dough into a rectangle. Cut into thin strips.
5️⃣ Twist or roll strips into long sticks. Place on baking sheet.
6️⃣ Brush with 🫒 oil and sprinkle 🌿 toppings.
7️⃣ Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 15–18 min until golden and crisp.
8️⃣ Cool completely for max crunch.
