Description
π₯ Tender pork neck braised in a rich, savory sauce β served with creamy mashed potatoes. A perfect comforting dish for lunch or dinner.
Ingredients
For the pork:
π 600g pork neck (cut into thick slices)
π§
1 onion, finely chopped
π§ 2 garlic cloves, minced
πΏ 1 tsp paprika
π’οΈ 2 tbsp oil
π§ Salt and pepper, to taste
π² 400ml water or beef broth
π· Optional: splash of white wine
For the gravy:
πΎ 1 tbsp flour
π’οΈ 1 tbsp oil or fat from the pan
π§ A bit of water to adjust thickness
For the mashed potatoes:
π₯ 800g potatoes, peeled and chopped
π§ 50g butter or margarine
π₯ 100β150ml milk or plant milk
π§ Salt, to taste
Preparation
1. π₯ Heat oil in a pan, season pork and sear on both sides until golden. Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, sautΓ© onion and garlic until soft. Add paprika, then deglaze with broth (and wine if using).
3. π Return meat, cover, and simmer on low for 60β75 minutes until tender.
4. πΎ To thicken: mix flour and oil in a pan, cook until golden, then stir into the sauce. Simmer 5 min.
5. π₯ Meanwhile, boil potatoes in salted water until soft. Drain, mash with butter and milk until smooth.
6. π½οΈ Serve pork and gravy over a bed of mashed potatoes.
