Crispy wafer layers filled with a warm, rich blend of dark chocolate and ground walnuts.
It’s quiet on the plate, but full in flavor. Perfect with coffee, or when the day just needs something sweet.
Ingredients
🧇 1 pack of wafer sheets (5 layers)
🌰 200 g ground walnuts
🍫 100 g dark vegan chocolate
🥄 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
🍬 200 g sugar
💧 150 ml water
🫒 100 ml oil (sunflower or neutral)
🧂 A pinch of salt
(optional) A few drops of vanilla or rum extract
Preparation
1️⃣ In a saucepan, combine 🍬 sugar, 💧 water, 🫒 oil, and 🍫 chocolate. Heat gently until melted.
2️⃣ Stir in 🌰 walnuts, 🥄 cocoa, and 🧂 salt. Mix until the filling is smooth and thick.
3️⃣ Let the filling cool slightly so it’s easy to spread but not runny.
4️⃣ Layer the wafers: one sheet, one layer of filling, until you finish with the top wafer left plain.
5️⃣ Cover with parchment, press down with a board or book, and let sit for several hours or overnight.
6️⃣ Slice with a sharp knife dipped in hot water for clean cuts.
The flavor deepens overnight – don’t rush it.
These wafers age beautifully and are often even better the second day.
